Day of Giving

June 13, 2021

At St. Anthony Retreat and Conference Center, we have touched many lives, young and old. Personal Encounters with Christ have helped people who are hurting find healing through God’s loving presence. All who come here discover a peaceful place surrounded by natural beauty and which resonates with God’s peace, love, joy, rest, and so much more.

Your generosity during the Day of Giving will help us continue to be a spiritual oasis for all. Through the funds raised, we will be able to resume our planning to add additional wings to both the adult as well as the youth centers, offer scholarships to those in need, and improve and maintain our facilities to meet the needs of our guests. Thank you so much for your contribution and helping us to fulfill our mission to be a place of solace and refuge for all who come to here seeking peace.

This retreat is for people of all walks of life–clergy, religious, and lay people who long for a deep, personal experience of God’s love and presence, and who feel drawn to an extended conversation with the Lord.

 Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction is “help given by one Christian to another which enables that person to pay attention to God’s personal communication to him or her, to respond to this personally communicating God, to grow in intimacy with this God, and to live out the consequences of the relationship.” (William A. Barry and William J. Connolly, The Practice of Spiritual Direction) Spiritual direction focuses on religious experience. It is concerned with a person’s actual experience of a relationship with God.

Spiritual direction is about a relationship. The religious experience is not isolated, nor does it consist of extraordinary events. It is what happens in an ongoing relationship between the person and God. Most often this is a relationship that is experienced in prayer. Spiritual direction is a relationship that is going somewhere. God is leading the person to deeper faith and more generous service.

Spiritual Direction is available upon request, 559-561-4595
